GHOST Factory Racing Team

The  GHOST Factory Racing Team has been on the international stage since 2011, as a pure women’s team, with much success.  In recent year, GHOST Factory Racing has adopted the concept of giving younger female athletes the chance to develop alongside experienced athletes has proven itself to work  well. In 2019 and 2020, the team from Waldsassen was able to win the team ranking in all World Cups, their first Elite XCO World Cup, along with many other achievements. Continuing with this philosophy in 2021 and beyond, gives U23 female athletes the chance to develop in their last year of the junior category instead of letting them move up to the Elite class at an early stage.

The 2023 team is Anne Terpstra (Netherlands), Caroline Bohé (Denmark), Isla Short (Scotland) and Nicole Koller (Switzerland) and Finja Lipp (Germany) who competes in the u/23 category.

Cadence Nutrition has been supporting the team since 2021. Based in South Africa, where the team enjoys pre-season training camps: “Especially during our long training camps in South Africa, it was not possible to bring all the bars and gels from Europe, so we came across Cadence.  The products impressed us so much that we ultimately stuck with them”, says team manager, Thomas Wickles.

We’ll be cheering for the Ghost girls in 2023, as they tackle the race season.

The #girlsonghost started the season with two training camps, which were great opportunities to train and prepare for the season. Spending time in Tuscany / Italy the team got to  know each other better and build up for the new season. The girls went out riding together almost every day and pushed each other to new limits - finding out about each other’s strengths and experiences and most important – sharing it all.

“The first get-togethers with the new team felt very good.  For us in the team, results are not the only decisive factor in selecting an athlete – and that is the only way our concept works.  We spend a lot of time together over the course of a year and there, the human side and the chemistry is one of the most important aspects for putting the team together.  That’s why we are now looking forward to the new season with our proven support staff and our new additions.  Together, our goal is to make the dream of the Olympic Games in Tokyo come true for as many athletes as possible”, said Wickles, looking ahead to the new season.

We’ll be cheering for the Ghost girls in 2021, as they tackle the season ahead.
