REYAAN TRAUT

REYAAN TRAUT

SA PARA ROAD AND TRACK CHAMPION

Reyaan is not one to let his adaptive athlete status hold him back - always looking for ways to challenge himself.  In November 2018, after overcoming the fear of wearing lyra, he took to cycling like a duck to water.

Most of Reyaan’s training is done indoors on the trainer, where is able to watch the latest races or catch up on a GCN episode.  One of his preferred sessions on the bike is 3 to 4 hours, indoor - even though it’s a struggle to start.  For this, he’ll easily use two x 750ml bottles of CarboFuel, one or 2 bars and a gel.  When Reyaan does train outside, you’ll find him on the Atlantic Seaboard.

Reyaan’s greatest goal is to compete at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, he finds inspiration to better himself from everyone who takes the time to get up from the couch.  We don’t think that Reyaan realises the inspiration that he is, in getting people up from the couch!

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Racing at Manchester track 2019 and Estoril race course at the World Champs in Portugal 2021
